The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

Season 1 presents a large cast of personalities residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season moves, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans create a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
