Vehicles in German Town Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police stated they were contacted by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Approximately fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.

Law enforcement state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.

The fluid had been applied in the form of a swastika, they reported.

Officers then discovered multiple other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement state preliminary tests show the substance was likely blood from a person.

"There is still no clue as to where it came from; authorities are not yet informed of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they added.

Municipal representatives stated they were working "to solve the case" and have requested to the public for information.

A senior political figure stated the incident left him speechless and had to be resolved quickly.

"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing violent incident half a decade ago," he posted on online, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a gunman aiming at residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
